When Maureen from the Patient Participation Group at Bracebridge Heath Surgery asked Jim Shaw, our Lincoln Store Manager, for donations towards a fundraising open day raffle to fund medical equipment for use in the surgery, he was only too happy to help.
Being a local himself, Jim knew that it was an area with a high percentage of elderly people and immediately contacted Karl and Dave, the Directors of Eden Mobility, to ask for their help. As the group was trying to raise money for various items including a defibrillator and wheelchair for patient use, they agreed to supply a wheelchair for them. This would allow any money raised to go towards the lifesaving defibrillator.
Clare Hatzidiakos from the Lincoln store, who herself suffers from MS, regularly visits care homes to organise various coffee mornings to demonstrate the wide range of products available from Eden Mobility, handed over the chair to fundraisers, seen here with the doctors and nurses at the Bracebridge Heath surgery. The chair has been put straight to use and has been invaluable in helping patients attend the surgery.
